Q: How did you come up with the idea to apply blockchain in the field of shopping, and what were the initial difficulties when starting the project?
A: As fans of all things shopping and crypto, we noticed a large hole in the market in terms of being able to spend cryptocurrencies on everyday items online, in ways you might with regular fiat. Our concept is simple: we sell products from leading brands/suppliers and allow customers to pay in crypto.
Q: Many new users don’t understand how to shop on Shopperoo platform, could you explain how it works or provide us with video tutorials on how to purchase products?
A: We are in the process of developing various tutorials and videos; however, using Shopperoo is just like checking out via a common online store. We are not reinventing the wheel, nor are we trying to confuse everyday shoppers. Simplicity is the key. At the end of the checkout process, when payment is due, customers are given the opportunity to pay with cryptocurrencies alongside conventional fiat options. Payment is settled in real-time, via our merchant provider Crypto.com, with successful payment captured and the order/delivery process underway.
Q: Are there any incentive programs for loyal buyers or sellers on Shopperoo?
A: At the beginning of March, we are set to launch our $SRO rewards program. We will offer customers who buy products in $SRO 10% cashback in SRO to do with as they see fit. 31 days following the finalization of the purchase, we will send the sellable SRO to the wallets of the customers’ choice (preferably WhiteBIT of course!). The customers who make purchases in other cryptocurrencies will receive 5% back in $SRO, again redeemable or sellable anytime the customer wishes.
We have set aside 50% of the total pool of SRO tokens for the rewards program, to be unlocked from a 3rd-party vault service on a monthly basis. Rewarding loyalty to those who are loyal to us is important in brand virality.
Q: Tell us about your ecosystem. What besides the token is included in your ecosystem, and what are you working on now? Will there be any platform releases soon?
A: We are developing 2 core pieces of tech: Shopperoo Browser Extensions, and the Shopperoo Blockchain.
The Shopperoo Browser Extensions will allow customers to complete purchases from any online store that accepts Visa, via a real-time crypto-to-fiat virtual visa swap. This will open up an infinite marketplace for all ‘hodlers’ of crypto, and merchants alike. Bringing crypto to the masses has been a long-term dream of ours, and we hope this will speed up the adoption.
The Shopperoo Blockchain will be a blockchain specifically to handle transactions for the e-commerce industry with lightning fast settlement at close to zero fees. The goal of this is to allow for crypto payments online and in-store without transaction settlement delays you see currently with Bitcoin, ERC, and BNB, without the need for 3rd-party liquidity providers. All will be handled in one ecosystem, spread throughout nodes across the globe.
Q: One of the challenging problems with major e-commerce platforms is the large volume of data that they gather from users and sell out to stores and merchants who use their platform. How does Shopperoo intend to solve this problem using blockchain technology?
A: All customer data will remain private. We do not have access to customer wallets or card details. The core idea of cryptocurrencies is to remove control from a few big players and provide a certain level of privacy for users. Protection of this data must remain a core focus in our strategy moving forward.
Q: What are the cryptocurrencies that can be used for transactions on Shopperoo? Which regions of the world is Shopperoo currently operating in for purchase and delivery?
A: We accept more than 30 different cryptocurrencies on Shopperoo.com for payment including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, Ripply, Doge, Litecoin, Cardano, CRO, and Shopperoo SRO (coming on the 3rd of March 2022).
In addition to the solutions of Crypto.com we will be adding further integrations, opening us up to more than 200 cryptocurrencies by mid-March.
Q: Do you have any plans for the multichain? These days, multichain has become a development that many projects have transitioned to. Are you planning on putting it on your roadmap?
A: We do plan on having a multichain solution. More info on this will come in Q2 2022.
Q: What other partners and projects do Shopperro plan to cooperate with and develop in the future?
A: In developing our blockchain, and with SRO to be named soon fiat pegged coin at its core, we will endeavor to spread our payment gateway to as many leading marketplaces and chains as possible.
We will announce partner relationships as we go, and look forward to inviting merchant and customer blockchain testers in the coming months. In the meantime, Shopperoo.com is open for business and has been delivering products purchased with crypto since January of this year.
