W Group Invests in SwapGlobal to Expand Institutional Access to Pre-IPO Shares

The investment in the U.S.-based OTC derivatives provider reflects W Group’s growing focus on emerging financial technologies and infrastructure connecting traditional and digital asset markets.
W Group, the global fintech and technology ecosystem behind WhiteBIT, continues to expand its investment activities as its Founder and President, Volodymyr Nosov, joins Dutch investor Marcel Boekhoorn and Amsterdam-based private equity firm Kenzoll Capital in backing SwapGlobal, a U.S.-based provider of over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives for institutional investors.
The funding will support SwapGlobal’s expansion beyond crypto derivatives, with an initial focus on enabling institutional investors to gain early exposure to shares of private companies ahead of their public listings (pre-IPO). The company also plans to expand its offering across foreign equities, computing power and digital assets.
The investment reflects W Group’s broader vision of supporting technologies that bridge traditional finance and digital assets, creating new opportunities for institutional market participants.
Expanding Access to Emerging Asset Classes
SwapGlobal is developing financial infrastructure that enables institutional investors, including hedge funds and asset managers, to gain exposure to a wider range of assets through OTC derivatives without directly holding the underlying assets.
Its model allows eligible institutional clients to access these markets without maintaining their own crypto wallets, offshore exchange accounts or dedicated crypto infrastructure. SwapGlobal manages and hedges the underlying positions, while collateral is held with qualified custodians.
The new funding will provide additional trading and working capital, enabling SwapGlobal to expand its derivatives portfolio and serve a broader institutional client base. The company is currently preparing its first pre-IPO transactions.
Alongside the investment, SwapGlobal has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Fedja Terzic as Chief Risk Officer. Terzic previously served as Managing Director and Global Head of Risk & Middle Office at Flow Traders, before becoming COO and CRO at One Trading, Europe’s first MiFID-regulated crypto derivatives exchange.
Volodymyr Nosov, Founder and President of W Group, said: “Digital assets are moving from the edges of finance into the mainstream, and institutional capital needs infrastructure it can trust. Investors need partners who can offer clear structures and proper risk controls. SwapGlobal is building a U.S.-compliant, transparent way for institutions to take exposure to these markets, and that is why we are backing the company.”
Corné Melissen, Founder of Kenzoll Capital, said: “Our digital asset market-making business has been part of SwapGlobal’s trading setup. The technology and the team that run it now sit inside SwapGlobal, so the company can set prices for its derivatives and manage the risk on them in one place.”
René van Kesteren, Founder and CEO of SwapGlobal, said: “With these investors on board, we can serve institutional clients within the U.S. regulatory framework much faster with OTC derivatives on pre-IPO shares, compute and digital assets. The trading capital and additional working capital give us room to move into the next phase of growth.”
Strengthening W Group’s Investment Strategy
The backing of SwapGlobal follows W Group’s recently announced$400 million investment in SignSplit, a technology company developing infrastructure for the emerging AI data economy.
Together, these investments reflect W Group’s expanding interest in emerging technologies, from artificial intelligence to institutional financial infrastructure, and its ambition to support businesses developing new solutions for the global digital economy.
As traditional and digital financial markets become increasingly interconnected, W Group continues to explore investment opportunities in technologies that can help shape the next generation of financial services.
