The term “metaverse” is heard more often in the speeches of tech leaders. In short, the metaverse is a crossroad of online and offline realities.
Imagine you need to go see a new apartment, but you can’t be there in time physically. Instead of making a normal video call, you can send your projection (just like in Star Wars) and inspect the details of a new place as if you were there.
What does a metaverse include?
🔸 Software (3D engines to construct virtual worlds)
🔸 Equipment (VR glasses, AR gadgets, etc.)
🔸 Databases (for storing metaverses)
🔸 Blockchain (multiple purposes)
One of the possible tasks of the blockchain here is to provide a connection between user data and their funds in order to use the services of the metaverse.
As such, the metaverse does not exist yet. However, blockchain technologies such as NFT are gradually blurring the boundaries between the real and the virtual.
